CampsBay Media has helped to deliver a successful second edition of Africa’s biggest football essay writing competition, #WritingGamesNG 2017 sponsored by Goal.com Nigeria and the University of Sussex.
The competition received 630 entries, more than more than the first edition in 2016.
The winners of this year’s competition are Adepoju Ademola and Emmanuella Chisom James in Category 1 (NYSC/Final Year Undergraduates) and Category 2 (SS3/Sixth Form Colleges) respectively.
The duo received 100,000 Naira and 75,000 Naira respectively.

CampsBay Media joined the competition as technical partners to Goal.com Nigeria and the University of Sussex.
CampsBay Media’s founder, Lolade Adewuyi, is a co-founder of the #WritingGamesNG during his tour of duty as Chief Editor of Goal.com Nigeria. His passion for sport and education led to the idea of the competition that was co-founded alongside Tosin Adebisi of the University of Sussex.

“We are happy to have received a higher number of entries in the #WritingGamesNG this year, which is a signpost to the increase in interest that the competition has received,” Adewuyi said.
“It was also very interesting to see the quality of football writing from women who won one of the two categories and made the podium in the other. We can only expect that this will improve the interest in Nigerian sports and football especially.”
CampsBay Media will continue to support avenues to improve the capacity of manpower for the sports industry through initiatives like the #WritingGamesNG.
